Does a desktop full of folders, etc. make PC slow?

I tend to save things to desktop for easier finding for later use. I think I read that it can slow PC so have thought about moving them but am not good at organizing, filing & find Libraries confusing. Should I create a whole new Library to move them to? or just to a folder, or what? How would you handle a desktop that looked like this?

No, it does not. But it is not an optimal arrangement. Try this:

Thank you! I watched the video, looks like what I need to do. Will have to practice a bit.

It is really simple. Just make enough subfolders in the main folder. Then it is easier to find things. And the main folder should stay on the desktop. That is easiest when you want to add/delete something.

Another facility I propose for links and folders that you use all the time is Rocket Dock. That is really nifty. Let me know if you have questions.
