    force backup before shutdown win7

    Hi all,
My wife is a digibeet and doesn't want to know anything other than that the laptop works I'm looking for a script or small progrmme that will flash a message "make a backup" when she activates the shutdown.Mozback and easus todo free are installed but she never thinks to use them.Setting set times for autobackup is not relevant since she does not often use the laptop.
    Any other suggestions please??

It might be better to have the backups start as soon as the OS boots. The backup apps should be okay if she shuts the system down while they are running. You can force Mozy to backup using a scheduled task that triggers with each user log on. You can probably do the same for Easeus.

If you want to stick with your original plan, let us know which flavor of W7 is on your wife's laptop (e.g. Ultimate, Professional, Home....).

    For MozyHome, I use:

    Code:
    "%PROGRAMFILES%\MozyHome\mozybackup.exe" /backup

    I already use mozbackup
the problem is/was my wife doesn't start/use the already installed backup programmes
I have decided to use win patrol to add the backup programmes to the win startup folder as suggested earlier, win patrol makes that very easy

I understood that you already use MozyHome (mozybackup.exe). I was just providing the command line syntax to start a backup

It is I that should apologize.
    That post was poorly written.
Only four words, "For MozyHome, I use:"
It would have been much clearer had I said,
"You can use this command line to automatically start a MozyHome backup:"

Anyway, please post back after you use Win Patrol to start these backup apps. It has been a long time since I have used Win Patrol and I'm not sure how well that it will work for this situation. I know that a scheduled task will work, but like you said, Win Patrol is easy to use.
