Windows 7 pro 64 bit only using 3.37 GB of 4GB of ram

I just recently installed windows 7 pro 64 bit on my computer. under the computer properties it shows 4 GB of ram installed but 3.37 is usable. I have a asus p5gc-mx/1333 mother board and 2 2GB ram sticks. I really don't understand why it is only letting me use 3.37GB of ram

Most often times the remaining ram is being used for built in graphics processor. Do you have a Graphics card installed?

Well, windows and other programs must be using some of that RAM. I am no expert on this, but I've seen this issue come up multiple times. The OS is smart enough to divvy up the RAM according to need. If you would like to see more RAM, you may just need to buy more. This is a built-in feature, not an actual problem with the computer.

It has nothing to do with Windows. The missing portion of RAM is Hardware Reserved, in use by the hardware. Installing more RAM is not going to help. The motherboard in question has a stern memory limitation. In any case, you need to go though the BIOS and look for "Memory Remap" or something similar.

Yep, restricted RAM on that motherboard. Quote from ASUS:

    '2 x DIMM, max. 4GB, DDR2 667/533 MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered memory
    Dual channel memory architecture'

Goes on to say max for 32bit is <3GB

So installing more RAM wont help in this case to improve performance

Understand you have a discrete GPU - question is, is it really being used or is the BIOS still sitting on the on-board graphics.
