Standby memory prevents using Cubase 5 to full effect

Hello guys, i am new at the forum and i really need some help regarding an issue that involves using standby ram memory. Thing is i use Cubase 5 which lets say need aprox. 2 gb of ram at least for my usage.

About 1,3gb of my memory is in use all the time for some reason even if i dont do nothing, thats probably my concern regarding issues like malware maybe etc... But still i have almost 2 gb going into my standby memory which leaves me with less than a 1 gb of free memory for my cubase usage.

Cubase doesnt regard standby as obviously its not reserved for that particular program, so i only have this 700-800mb which is really not enough.

I read multiple threads regarding this issue, and people keep telling that its not an issue at all.. but when i want my memory to focus particular program it becomes imposible.

Note for the attachment - i have multiple browser bars, and some other programs working so, PM in use is little more than usual.

    Thank you in advance! :)

It would help if you could describe the issues you are having with Cubase 5. Is it a 32 or 64 bit application?

The memory graph looks very good, the only change I would like to see is less free RAM. Standby memory is superior to free memory in every way. Standby memory is not in any way reserved and is fully available to all applications. Free memory is wasted memory and should be kept to the absolute minimum, preferably zero. All modern operating systems are designed to work that way. Linux and Mac OS follow similar principles but with different names for the terms.

I can't imagine how Standby memory could be the cause of any problem.

Thank you for fast response. Cubase 5 is x32 application for the same reason most of the good stuff is made for 32, and i have Windows 7 Ultimate x64.

To be more specific, problem occurs when working in the middle of the project and when free ram becomes 0. All instruments and sounds are working somewhat fine, but it wont take any more input from my external devices (keyboard). Like when i press a sound on my pad it just wont process it, like its unplugged. And when i have like a spare 100 free mb, it works just fine.
