Everything fading too fast in Windows 7

    Hey folks,

I recently did a repair install to fix things with my Windows 7 SP 1 (Home Premium, 64 bit)

While i have Aero turned off to save time and performance, I have noticed that things like my volume control tend to disappear before i can adjust them. (yes, i am aware that i can just use the keyboard to do so) This is an aggravation for me, as I'm constantly having to raise and lower volume. Same thing tends to happen with things on the taskbar, like browser windows. I go to close them, and they just disappear too quickly. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello WhizKid,

Usually when you open the volume control from the Volume taskbar notification area icon, it will stay on the screen until you click on anything else.

The taskbar thumbnail previews from an icon will stay open as long as you have the pointer on them. As soon as the pointer leaves a border of the taskbar thumbnail preview pane, it will close.
