Windows 7: Insufficient Memory May Be Limiting Performance

Insufficient Memory May Be Limiting Performance

Dear Forum 7 Experts,

I have an Excel application that uses 3 GB of memory when it is idle. When is is running the app will use up to 10 GB of memory. My memory configurations are as follows:

Physical Memory

32 GB
Excel App
10 GB
Other Processes
2 GB
Free Memory
17 GB
Kernel Memory

377 MB
Non Paged
123 MB
The Excel application seems to run okay for the first hour. But, since the app uses more memory, as time progresses, it eventually slows down to a snails pace. The program is written impeccably to conserve memory but its associated and growing tables of data would seem to be too much for the system to handle.
Since my workstation can handle up to, I think, about 600 GB of memory, I am wondering if i need to purchase more memory or whether there is something else i can try to relieve the performance bottleneck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

I believe a fellow by the name of Sir George solved this problem for me. After converting from a lower version of windows 7 to Windows 7 Ultimate, the problem went away because the operating system can now fully utilize the memory that I have installed. Nice going sir.

Insufficient Memory error
I'm having this error that says "Insufficient Memory, please close these programs to clear up some space." The CPU meter gadget says I'm using 96% of my RAM when this error occurs. Well, I've had this since I had Vista (I installed Win7 about 2 weeks ago). And I thought installing a new OS would...

Performance - Limiting Factors?
HI; I have problems with programs "Not Responding" at random times. Most of the time they snap out of it, many times they need to be closed and re-opened. I've monitored my memory use and have never seen more than about 6 out of my 8 GB being used at one time. Here is a sample of what I...
