    CBS.log

You are right again. Thanks. I had checked a box to display "hidden system files" and then got confused by what I saw. I thought the files resulted from running the SFC.

Attached is the CBS folder containing the CBS.log

That usually means that the upload is too large - delete the older CBSPersist files from it and try again.
A zip file must be less than 8MB to upload to the forum.

Yes it was well over 8 MB. With the persist files deleted it is 81 KB. Now lets see if I can do this correctly.

Murphy's law strikes again - the SFC results have actually been rolled back into one of the CBSPersist files.
Please upload the latest two such files - with luck it'll be there somewhere.
If you permanently deleted them, please run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post just the CBS.log, and any CBSPersist file that is also created.

I have put all of the Persist files in three zip files; each less than 8MB. Each zip file will be sent separately.

If it's still too big, upload it to a fileshare site (preferably OneDrive or Dropbox) and post a link to it here

Good gravy. These are all less than 6MB. One of them is only 3.4MB. I can readily email this size. I have to go off line until Sunday. I will work the problem then. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
