My PC is to slow ...

    Hello,
    I'm new in this forum.
I have some problem with my PC (Windows 7 Home Premium), it is too slow and when I go with Mozilla Firefox I have problems.

There is a program to do a check of actual situation in order to understand what I have to do?

    Thank you in advance

Try running a basic virus scan, if you don't already have a virus scanning software you can download one from here. Free Antivirus for Windows - Open source GPL virus scanner

You can also download CCLeaner and use that to clean your computer, it can solve speed problems in some cases. https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Post back the results of those programs!

See this here: Optimize Windows 7

Also do you have any ant-malware software? Antivirus, antispyware?

Good advice. Just make sure when you are running CCleaner, that you do not use the registry cleaner. It can cause problems to your PC and slow it down.

    Well, it's a 6 or 7 year old processor, so I wouldn't expect miracles.

Is the "slowness" a recent phenomenon? When was the PC last "fast" by your standards?

Does it seem "normal" when doing certain tasks and "slow" when doing others?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using the registry cleaner in Ccleaner IMO

I have to clean all logs from my PC to speed it up(CCleaner doesn't get them all) So I made a .bat to help do that(lot quicker than doing it by hand) Logcleaner click on logcleaner.bat and it will download. Right click and run as admin. Hope this helps!

XP is now not supported. It will be hard to get a key for it and use it as your daily OS. But everyone makes mistakes.
