Startup and Shutdown are slow, edited the services yesterday and now i
I was having problems shutting down, restarting, and even accessing Task Manager from ctrl-alt-dlt & ctrl-shift-esc yesterday. I watched a tutorial video on youtube where the guy made some registry edits found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS6aBQ-mpTE
Then I shut down the system with the shortcut he created in the video. My system boots up and my taskbar is from the Windows 95/98 theme, icons are missing, can't connect to internet, no sound.
So I discovered a solution which was to go to "Services.exe" and make the startup type for everything there "automatic". I got a little impatient with the results so I went through every single item here and while making them "automatic" I also changed their status to "Started". This in turn made my system boot up much slower than before.
I'm not exactly sure how to go about this because what I want to do is make the startup types either:
-as optimal for performance as possible
or
-the way they were before
My startup time before all of this was still relatively slow. Help is much appreciated.
