    AutoRuns - Which to Disable

New to Win7. I disabled a lot of services based on several lists with explanations regarding what the service does.

I've looked for a similar list of AutoRuns. Even looking up (internet) the AutoRun to date has yielded little explanation of
    what each AutoRun is for.

Anyone have a list or know of one for AutoRuns?

    Thanks
    David

I don't know what services you disabled, or what explanation lists you looked at.
If you disabled default Microsoft services, you may cause more problems than you know ...
If you do run into system problems going forward, keep this tutorial handy so you can compare what you have to the default settings.

Regarding Autoruns, that gives a comprehensive list that will vary per User/PC/configuration.
i.e. A home built with a clean install (no factory bloatware) will be different than a Pre-Built with factory bloatware.

If you're interested in performance and a clean system take a look at these tutorials:

    DavidW7ncus: Thanks for the input.

My system pretty clean as just loaded Win 7 Pro from XP Pro.. In process on loading back my software but wanted to get rid of all M$ junk first.

This is one on my big complaints with M$. A separate log should be generated for all files and Reg entries for everything M$ loads as well as any third party installed software. Firefox for example installs a service when installed. Who knows else.

Re: Autoruns, I've got a lot of autoruns for RAID, SCII which I'm sure are MIcrosoft initialed when I loaded Win7.
As oriiginally posted, most search for Autorun lines has yielded little as to what they do and why or why not they are needed.

I believe Event Viewer keeps such logs, 100s of thousands of them. It's not easy to find what you may want though.
