I see 2 Google update Services, are they both required, if not how do I delete one?

I just keep both disabled.
I really don't want Google doing anything automatically.

Doesn't disabling affect Google syncing and how do you get to know if a new version is released?

Just Google Google Update. Read what all it includes and decide what you want.
I don't Google sync anything.

Google updates updates chrome, google earth and other google products on your pc. For the best security I would keep it on automatic. Manually checking for a update will usually lesson your security, as most people forget to check manually.

If you do not use any google programs services, uninstall them. The services will then go away.
