Windows 7: Two issues

Two issues

Hi guys! I've been experiencing two very annoying problems since I installed Windows 7. Any help to fix them would be appreciated.

First one regards Hibernation. I've never been a fan of it, therefore the first thing I did after installation was go to the power plan settings and disable it. It didn't work however, since my PC seems to go on standby if I let it be for a long time and the monitor shuts off even though I've specifically marked the NEVER SHUT OFF option. I checked around for the issue online and found that I could powercfg -h off in the command prompt to turn it off as well. However, when I tried it I kept getting an error that I didn't have permission to turn it on or off, even though I WAS the admin.

The second issue is concerning a program I use for my motherboard not turning on automatically when the PC boots. I have a Gigabyte motherboard which comes with a software called iCool which basically optomizes the fan speed and more importantly, dramatically lowers its noise. In XP, the program would just start up automatically in the back after Windows finished booting. It doesn't do that in Windows 7, even though the settings specificy it to do so, therefore I am always forced to manually click it every time. Also, when I do click it, I get that warning you get when using some programs. I get the same warning when I click my Avast! antivirus.

So is there a way I can:

1) disable PC hibernation/standby/monitor power off for good? All my power plan settings are set to NEVER yet it does nothing.

2) add my iCool program to some sort of list or something that deems it safe to be used in Windows 7 without having to go through that annoying warning everytime. I'm assuming this is the reason it won't start automatically either. I know I can bypass the warnings if I lower that safety slider thing, but I'd prefer if there were a way to simply add programs to a 'safe to use' list, like it is possible to add in firewalls.

I hope I was coherent enough in explaining the issues I am facing and major thanks in advance to anyone who can help me solve them.

~ Cheers!

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

Ok for the hibernation issue you have to run an elevated command prompt. click the orb then type command when you see command prompt in the list right click it and then choose run as admin. now type in powercfg -h off

As for the second one I will look into this and get back to you someone else might have the answer too.

Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11

For the first one: Go into Change power settings then go into "Create a power plan," and choose "High performance." Then click on "Choose when to turn off the display." And, lastly save the settings with a new name for your new Custom Plan.

Second: Attempt setting iCool to run in XP Mode.
