Which Startup Entries can i disable in msconfig

I'm trying to improve the performance of my Dad's Ultrabook. It is a Toshiba Satellite T230D, Running Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit. AMD Athlon II Neo 1.70GHz, 2.00GB Memory.

I've just done a refresh on the PC, back to out of box state. Installed his security suite and a couple other programs. And I notice its quite sluggish booting up. So wanted to know what can i disable in msconfig to improve performance on startup and general.

Adobe Reader and Acrobat Manager
Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba
Catalyst Control Center
HD Audio Background Process
Java Platform SE Auto Updater
SVPWUTIL Application
Synaptics Pointing Device Driver
TOSHIBA Flash Cards
TOSHIBA HDD Protection
TOSHIBA PC Health Monitor
TOSHIBA Power Saver
TOSHIBA Service Station
TOSHIBA Volume Regulator
TOSHIBA Web Camera Application
TOSHIBA Zooming Utilty

And there's these non Microsoft Services:
Adobe Acrobat Update Service
Adobe Flash Player Update Service
AMD External Events Utilty
ConfigFree WiMAX Service
ConfigFree Service
Norton 360
Skype Updater
TOSHIBA Bluetooth Service

When computer starts I hear the windows chime, then sound icon appear on system tray, wireless icon takes about 20seconds. Then Gradually a bunch of other icons appear Norton 360 last about 4 minutes later.

I've got an idea on some toshiba programs i can disable, but some others i don't know.

Been experimenting with disabling startup items, but not much luck until i disabled the 2 configfree services. This made boot up time almost instantly.

None of those are needed except your AV and I would not want the Norton bloatware. Install MSE instead for best performance.

All are freeloaders which start up on Win7's back and interfere with better versions of the Toshiba crapware built into Win7.

What I would do to regain much of Win7 native performance from the crapware is Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

You may need to uninstall the WiMax crapware to default to WIn7's superior built-in wireless. There is absolutely no reason to have poorly written Toshiba crapware which duplicates and conflicts with better versions built into Win7.

Unfortunately just by cleaning it up as best as possible it will never achieve perfect Win7 performance until you do what most tech enthusiasts do and Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Everything you need is in the blue link. I recently did one on that model and all drivers were supplied by the installer and Windows Updates as specified in the tutorial.
