Shutting down freezes PC, won't shut down completely.
Hello users of the Seven Forums!
About one year ago I've got this new PC, and I've never had any problems with shutting it down, but my PC decided it was about time to show some weird failure in completely turning off.
Steps I take when shutting down:
Start > Shut down > *Background programs close* > I leave my PC, to come back on a frozen screen
*Shutting down*, with the circle not even turning around anymore.
So I'm a little bit of a noob when it comes to the more technical aspects of the PC. I do know most of the basics, and I've scoured the internet last night, trying to get in to the subject. So I found out you may have good use for the events when this happened. So, I made some screenshots of the events that happened around the time I shut down my pc the last 3 days. I'm not sure, but I think only the last three days it didn't work.
Shut-down 1, Yesterday:
The most recent occurance of the problem.
Warning: WLAN-AutoConfig 4001
Warning: User Profile Service 1530 (Part 1)
Warning: User Profile Service 1530 (Part 2)
Shut-down 2, 3/Jul/14:
No errors, I think it actually didn't freeze now I think of it.
Shut-down 2, 2/Jul/14:
I think this was the first time this occured.
Warning: WLAN-AutoConfig 4001
Error: HAL 12
Looking back further in my event log, the WLAN warning shows up every single time I shut down my PC, so it doesn't seem to cause the problem. Have I overlooked something? Do I need to provide more information?
Please note I don't know what to do with the current information, because I don't know how to test if the problem is caused by it. I would love it if someone could help me from the perspective of a teacher giving his first class to his pupils, since like I said, my knowledge is limited.
Thanks in advance,
Springstof.
