Disk running at 100% in resource monitor, Laptop freezes.

    Hi Guys

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
My laptop has been having issues for about 5 days, I first though that this was a virus but this is not the case.
The Eset engineer has jumped on my laptop and has confirmed that there is no issue there.
I then checked to see if there is an issue with the HDD but the scan that I ran did not find any issues or bad sectors
I then went through the threads on here and have managed to boot up in “selective startup” by using msconfig.
I can confirm that the HDD is running fine is selective start up so I started to tick the startup options one by one to see which one is causing the issue.
I get down to the last one and I thought Bingo. So I then restart in normal mode but without the startup option I thought it was ticked only for the HDD to run on 100% again.
As this laptop is only for my work I have removed all of the programmes that I do not need (Via uninstaller).
I am now stumped to what the issue is.
So now the HDD runs at 100% on first boot up for about 6 min.
After this it settles down it looks to be ok then it will run for about 100% again for no apparent reason, I have monitored it and it does not looked to be tied to any specific program.
    Many thanks
