    advice with many fonts (10,000+)

I hear many different Yes & No's, I was given a DVD disc with 10,000+ fonts a friend has accumulated over the years. should I install them all to the system. I hear one thing on one website about many fonts and something different on another. some say it slows down your computer, others say ti doesn't affect the system at all. so?

If you don't need the fonts there is no point in installing them. If you have a need for some specific fonts that are on the DVD then just install those ones. Having a whole lot of fonts installed that you will never need will just take up space on your hard drive.

10,000 fonts may be of great value to a graphics designer but for most people they just take up space and make font selection more time consuming. Usually third party software, that you must learn to use, is needed to manage that many fonts.

If you need the fonts, install them. Otherwise why make things more complicated.
