I think that it's just a way to convice the less-than-tech-savvy that they need a new computer, so they end up buying a new computer with another copy of Windows on it. That way MS gets more money

    I reek of piles

    I like WEI. U c, I am a VAR.

But I absolutely agree that WEI is simply a marketing tool. And did you know... your graphics score can disable certain Live Photo Gallery options? Pan and zoom would not engage without a tweak to override a WEI decree to the registry, so I bought a new vid card. You can see an earlier post elsewhere - I bought an ATI HD3850 512MD3 for $25 and sold my old ATI X700 Pro for $25. Capitalist pig, I am.

The buyer got a bump in his WEI and he was happy. I got a jump from 4.1 to 6.9. Yes, I like WEI.

I heard a joke about that the other day

Okay, enough immaturity from me, but I find it strange how my graphics can get me a 3.1 when they can barely handle Pixel Shaders 2.0

I don't know that much about RAID :).

    This is what I know:
    RAID0 is for speed demons
    RAID1 is for space hogs
    RAID0+1 is RAID0 and RAID1 combined.
RAID5 is able to be done using Windows, though I don't know what it is.

I'll read the Wikipedia article some day.
    RAID0 is for risk takers
    RAID1 is for poosies
Windows won't do RAID5 natively, but RAID5 will do windows. See Cleaning Windows, Van Morrison.

I did have a 4 disk RAID0 volume for a little while. The only significant effect was on internet download/throughput. The effect was HUGE.
