My results... :)
Hey BFK, you think so too....
I guess it does not matter too much but those two scores have been closer in the past. Ah well...what can I do.... (besides buy a new 300 series GTX) haha
Thought i'd show you the improvement to my WEI caused by the installation of a new Intel X-25M Gen 2 SSD as my Windows 7 System Partition.
Before - Running off a 7200rpm Western Digital drive
After - Running off the SSD
As you can see, an incredible increase in WEI from 5.7 to 7.7 for Hard Drive performance, and for some reason my RAM performance has leapt from 5.4 to 5.9.
I am still however bottlenecking on my processor for my overall WEI performance. This is because my Intel 945 Express chipset will not cope with anything more modern than a Pentium D. I cannot overclock mine either due to a Dell motherboard.
However, I am pleased to report than Windows 7 performance on my Dell XPS400 is amazing with the SSD - boot time is exteremely fast, and applications installed on the SSD open very quickly even compared with my previous Win 7 RC install. This SSD has given the Desktop a further lease of life which will easily see it through the next three years or so (as I am not a bleeding edge gamer).
As the sticker in the SSD box states, 'My SSD Rocks!'
