Here's mine. I'm not quite sure why Disk Data Transfer Rate seems a little low and whether there is anything I can do to increase its performance?

My score is rather pathetic as it takes the lowest rating of all things my slow 60 gig maxtor drive slows everything down otherwise I'd be a happy peppy 4.7. My friend spends a lot on his machine and has 7.6 but I don't have 4000 to spend on goodies I have no use for. I don't believe the WEI is accurate because you should be able to get something higher than 8 but maybe it doesn't show yet. I'd like to see scores with the new Xeons or whatever those things are now called. Xeon Extreme.

Windows WEI is indeed a por mesure of performance, in that it is not as accurate as benching software, and that it is manupulated to score some things Higher than others, but what it does do, is apply the same tests to each system, ang give a reprentative score based on those tests, so even if the tests are not good, as long as they are applied fairly across the board, it does provide a comparsion, also dont let the scale affect your opinion as the scale should not matter, a car at top speed mesured in MPH is going the same speed as the same car at top speed mesured in KPH, what is important is how it ranks, not what # it gives you. What I like to use it for, is to get a base on my system, then make changes, and run it again to see how those changes affect my system, i don't need anything highley percise, or sofisticated, all I want to see is did It improve, and was the improvment worth what it cost me to obtain. Microsoft could have just as easley chose to rate on a scale of 0 to 114, as a scale of 0 to 7.9, but regardless of the scale performance would not have changed. The next release may go from 0-10, as Vista toped out at 5.9. Also I do like the fact that your score is based on the lowest componant, it lets you know what componant you need to work on, It's been said a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, If you had three ropes tied togher to hold you up over a pit, and one could hold 200 lbs, one 165, and one 100, How would you want it rated.

With a treditional HD, 5.9 is about the best you can expect, even ir raid 0 you probably wont see more than 6.2 with the expensive HD's, but SSD is a diferent story, two ( the right two) in raid 0 can peg 7.9.

    Thanks KMoore4318 for the info.

What exactly is SSD, what are the benefits/advantages of this and/or Raid over a standard HD like mine, and how do I determine if I am able to configure my HD in that way?
