My 2600XT was a 5.2 for 3D/gaming. I haven't been able to test it w/ the HD 4850 because I keep getting a driver error.

I have a question?? My 64-bit Vista Ultimate Primary Hardisk WEI Score is 5.3 and the 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate WEI Hardisk score is 1.9 -- On the Same Hardisk because I have a dual boot setup, with same RAM & same drivers. Any idea why? Can this be changed. Windows 7 works very well, so what difference does this make?? Any relevant information would be really good. Thanks in advance for help. Patrick C

Windows 7 takes 'drive latency' into consideration when calculating score, Vista don't. Some say disabling 'write cache' on drive ups the scores, does for some, it don't for me. I was getting 3.0 for my RAID drives in Vista and Windows 7 when I first installed. I disabled 'write-cache buffer flushing' on mine, and now score 6.0. ![]() |
