they are virtually the same, both 256mb gddr2 64bit interface. an upgrade would be at least 256mb gddr3 128bit.

lmao i thought you would have realized, unless you thought it would have the same technology as a gtx290? its specs are just a little bit behind. lol i started of with my first grfx card being a 7600gs! what a kicker of a card.

I think the WEI is a bit kaka indeed. Considering I have a couple of velociraptors paired together I should be getting close to a 7.0 or something on my hard drive transfer speed. But ah well :)

As stated before, the WEI concept is just an excuse for Microsoft to say that your computer sucks noodles, and you should buy a new one (with another copy of Windows, so they get money).

I guess I can see that but not agree totally because if osmeone does research they will find the fastest bestest hdds you can get are velociraptors. And if you slap them in raid 0 well you got even more awesomeness. And if a 1 tb black edition gets a 6.9 score and yet a raid 0 velociraptor setup does not...theres just something inherently wrong in the way they calculate that score :) I am saying its a bug!

No, solid state drives are the fastest. The hard drive WEI benchmark is dependent on random access and IOPS. Traditional hard drives (even Velociraptors) don't come close to SSDs in this regard.

    I just don't get SSDs...

Yeah, they have fast data transfer rates, but does that matter when you can barely fit the OS on it? I woudn't give up my current HD for anything with less space...

    Hello ikilledkenny.

If you have more money than sense you can get a 512GB SSD and they're sold out of them!

I had a look at that! My jaw dropped on the floor and I couldn't find it for a few days!
