HEY thats heaps better! and the Gskill ram is fantastic value for performance. i know cos i got 8gb of the stuff! are you running 32bit or 64bit?
    I'm running 64-bit. :)

8 gigs? Nice! I'm planning on sticking with 4 for now, simply because I don't know what my plans are for my motherboard/processor combo. If I upgrade to something that isn't (as) compatible with the DDR2-800 that I'm using atm, I don't want to be stuck with 8 gigs of relatively expensive ram (my current mobo's max) that I can't use. :)

It's nice to see the extra "polish" that's been added to Windows 7 since the RC. It looks great and I can't wait to play around with it some more.

yeh i needed 8gb cos im using 2gb of gpu memory, in turn the system utilizes 2gb ram cos i have 2gb of vid memory. its strange how it works, but it was cos i was running out of ram while playing high end games like crysis and farcry2 ect and i got 8gb so it would be the same sticks in all 4 slots. But 4gb ram is usually great for most people.

yeh they came a long way from beta7000 which was full of little problems to a complete 100% OS. and it really didnt take them long when you think about it. mind you i think Bill has a couple of people working for him at Microsoft nowadays. lmao. id buy the OS if it wasnt so dang xpensive. come to think of it, the only OS i have ever owned was DOS shell 3.11 on a pile of diskettes, i think my dad had Win95 legit. lol. i know ALOT of hard work goes into creating or re-rendering an OS, but they could still lower store prices, and at the same time they would make more sales cos ppl could afford to upgrade. but greed is almost certain to eventually set into play. but the only way to stop fraud is to get rid of the internet world. and i dont see that happening.

The ATI Radeon 5850 graphics card score seems a bit daft really, a point lower than my three year old nVidia 8800GTS
Do you have the correct drivers? The DX version is listed as 10. People are getting 7.7-7.8 with HD 5850s. Also are you using the RTM?
Thanks for reply. Good point about the DirectX version showing as 10. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool is showing version 11 on my PC on the first page but DDI 10.1 on the second page (see screen shots)??

I am running Windows 7 Pro retail. THE ATI drivers are the latest released mid Oct.

I can't find a WEI screenshot anywhere for a Radeon 5850 to confirm what DirectX version they are showing.

I did find another person with the same query here:

Low WEI score with Radeon 5850 - Hardware Canucks

I don't want to hijack this thread if this is a technical issue so let me know if I should go somewhere else in the forums.

    1.) Are you running 64-bit?
2.) Have you downloaded the latest DirectX End-User Runtime (9/16/2009)?
3.) Is your PCI-E bus 2.0 and running at 16 lanes? (Check with GPU-Z)
4.) Have you tried some game benchmarks?

Here's mine. Not sure why my graphics score is so low, I would have thought it be a little higher than that.

    Any suggestions?
