i make you right there, but i don't understand this wei thing, because i used the windows wei and got a 7.8 on my SSD. then used the blackbox app. that i think uses the wei. and got a 7.9? as i think the blackbox tool runs a better test.

    give it a try..

    Thinking about an SSD

I really can't complain but the current HDD is pulling my score down and I honestly do not have much faith in Microsoft's assessment of systems.

You could always use HD Tune to check your performance if you wish. Below is two Segates in rade 0 and they yeild a WEI of about 6.1

    and 2 SSD's in raid 0 (X25m-G) yeild a 7.9

Actually the hdd subtest is the only part of wei that IS worth anything imho.

I got my 980x to 4.7ghz and still 7.8 cpu score, 7.9 doesn't seem possible without ln2/phase. I didn't bother screenshotting at the time. Many people said this was the case, I just thought they might be wrong as I got 7.8 when it was stock 3.3ghz, nearly 1.5ghz more wasn't enough to move the final .1.

SSD is still the biggest "actually feel it" performance boost to your computer, watch newegg for x25-v to dip below 100$ and get one (or 2!).

And on that note I retire with all 7.9's and a 7.8 for cpu. Been fun..

Haha... Nice. Spoken like a true MS fan.. I don't take their WEI rating system too seriously either, but like anything in computers, if it gives a number, people want that number to be higher, so it creates competition and boosts hardware sales... It's just another one of the contributing factors to helping computer technology move along.

My PC still averages about the mid 5's to upper 6's range in the WEI score, but I can play Resident Evil 5 at 1440x900 maxed out on DX10, so I have no complaints.

I am no fan of MS! LMAO, I still recall but never used Windows ME. Won't go there! I do agree with you on they play the game to boost sales and people do like the NUMBERS.
For the rest of us, if your computer does what you want and whenever you want it to then be happy. If you wish to race and get the newest toys then do so, what ever makes you happy! I just wish there was some true and blue HDD or SSD that would fill the numbers game.
