    how can i get the boot files in front of my hdd


    Hello,

    I run win 7 for a few weeks now and i would edit some of my boot time now i oc my computer.
    Is there any tool where you can place all the boot files in front of my hdd?

    The windows 7 Boot files are by default located on the active partition on the system.

    It is possible to use a 3rd part partitioner to create an active boot partition on the front of the drive and then use BCDEdit to relocate the files there.

    Windows 7 actually does this by default if you install from DVD onto a totally unpartitioned system, (the (in)famous 100 MB partition).

    No that will not work. Just leave it alone before your break it....
    The boot files are already placed in the most optimal location.

    If you want to greatly improve boot speed, put an SSD in your system and install Win 7 to that. Tinkering with file locations on a hard drive will have negligible effect.
