svchost seems to be eating my ram

l have mentioned this in another thread, but the problem seems to be getting more annoying, especially seeing as l just noticed svchost was getting close to 1GB of ram usage this time.

lve no idea why, but process explorer seems to note many of these "ntdll.dll!RtlValidateHeap+0x170" within the threads tab other than that l dont really see anything all that strange in the respects that while there are allot of threads starting with the ntdll.dll there seems to be one instance of every other thread, tho "ntdll.dll!RtlValidateHeap+0x170" does show up within other svchost instances.

lm just wondering whats causing it considering lve not had this issue before when l closed my browsers etc ld reclaim my ram going back to 25% or so but now the svchost services just keep on growing.

could this have anything to do with the ram l removed? l had to remove 8gb (leaving 8gb) because the other two sticks were causing bsods..

just looked at the tab took a screencap, looks like three services under that svchost..

could the large amount of ram usage be down to the diagnostic service? l wouldnt have thought it would be fonts tho, that said this svchost wasnt listed under explorer tho it did group itself with firefox when it was open for some reason.

still the only difference between the problem you linked me to and my own is that mine relates to ram usage rather than CPU usage.

think lve had a breakthrough, was googling each of the services and l noticed a thread regarding the Network Store interface service possibly having a memory leak, long story short l decided to restart it, first time nothing changed.. the second time l restarted it ram usage shot down, tho l had to restart my computer because the net didnt come back properly (from what lve read its an essential network service so something likely didnt restart).

indeed l did maxie, however when l requested the fix it warned me that it wasnt stable and could cause problems, plus l read that the final user did try to install it but it refused to install warning of comparability problems.

tho the last user mentioned installing all hotfixes and didnt get any problems since, but the program he mentioned kinda confuses me so l havent tried that.
