Yet another AERO is not working thread

I'm finishing setting up a new PC and i can't get Aero to work.

I've been googling for 2 days now and none solution works for me.

    The symptoms are as follows:
    • "Use Aero Peek ... " option in Taskbar props is grey.
    • The is none Aero Glass theme to select at all.
    • I don't even have "Enable Aero..." check-box in performance settings.
    • Troubleshooting Aero Problems can not identify what is wrong.

I did install all upgrades and drivers i can think of. What bugs me is that i don't have Intel HD Graphics 4600 in the device manager niether can i install drivers for it.

    btw:
An owner had installed windows 7 pro N from Windows DreamSpark (aka. MSDNAA) on it before i had a chance to do anything and now he can't get regular windows 7. Would that Win7N key work on regural Win7?

This PC spec is in my profile.

The N version of windows shouldn't make any difference it only means you wont have media player/centre and DVD maker

Intel gfx drivers shouldn't be a problem either if you are using GTX970 rather than onboard gfx

I don't see an inordinate amount of posts concerning Aero. But to get on with it. You can try MIcrosofts Fixit center, they have many automated "fixits", Aero has at least one of them in the Windows section.. Heres a link: Microsoft Fix it Solution Center: troubleshooting software issues

Have you tried running a sfc/scannow to scan for and possibly repair any corrupted system files. Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that if you haven't before : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Microsoft Fix it claims that my GF 970 does not support Aero... -_-. The card works fine thou.

The sfc says "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

    Hi,
I have a hard time believing your system is not aero compliant when my little 3 gig ram laptop and onboard graphic's do
New computer refer to the manufactures site for clues as well
    Cheers.
