Monitor Sleep set to never, does not save

Having this issue with Windows and in Radeon Catalyst, in power options for monitor sleep settings this will not save if I set it to never. So invariably it turns off monitor after 15 mins, in movies and playing music this turns off sound. Really annoying it started doing this awhile back and seems no way to save the setting. Always defaults to turn off monitor after 15 mins. I have it set both in windows and catalyst to never but never saves (on a restart).

I give it a try but if setting it never and it doesn't save to remember for restart I'm not holding my breathe. You don't suppose having primary partition 99% full would have anything to do with that.. hmm or Bitdefender Antivirus?

Windows 7 will not work properly with out some wiggle room.
I have found that Windows 7 will not work properly without a minimum of 10% free space and would prefer 20% free space.
With 1 % free space you will find many things that don't work as they should.

You don't suppose having primary partition 99% full would have anything to do with that.

I would create a new User account and see if the settings will stick in that account.
Maybe something is corrupt in your current account.

If you don't want to create and test with a new account,
you could enable the built in Administrator account and change the setting(s) there.
See if the settings stick after a reboot, and also work correctly for your current account.

Here is a tutorial by Brink to enable the built in Administrator account:

Well I haven't tried the admin acct. option, but I notice now the windows power profile is keeping the never turn off option for my monitor and hard drive. The Catalyst driver seems to be saving the never turn off for Hdd, but still defaults to 15 mins turn off monitor. Not sure which one of the Catalyst or Windows power profile take precedence? Maybe this in essence is part of the problem. I tried Netflix and a show and seems monitor doesn't turn off 15 mins in now, so Windows power profile seems to be taking charge.

I was just in Windows power profile and created a custom power profile called Always on - never off, saved it and it seems to have done the trick. When I look in Catalyst CC, it says it is using the "Always on - never off" profile, and it has both Monitor and Hdd marked "turn off: never"

I think that a number of issues of mine were linked to the Hdd being really full.

How much free space do you have on that drive now?
