Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate - Only hitting on Xeon #1, not #2?

Hi I have a dual xeon with 12 threads per cpu, 24 in total.

My issue is the app hits cpu #1 hard and doesn't address to the CPU #2 so slightly longer encode times, I'm guess more like twice.

It only take 20 minutes to convert a 1080p video on the Xeon X5650 and on the i7 930 at 4600Mhz it took 1hr 30min.

I just wanna hit on CPU #2 as well and get things done in Minutes.

    Thanks

The software has to be designed to take advantage of multiple physical CPUs.

That's cool yeah it hits on CPU #1 or #2 hit or miss like it'll hit on 1 or 2 between encodes. In task manager Affinity shows 12 threads on Node 0, and 12 threads on Node 1.

Just wondering what converting apps use both CPU(s) and maybe what codec per say takes use of both CPU(s).

The app see's all 24 threads but doesn't hit on both CPU(s) at the same time, only 1 at a time.

I do have bios set to NUMA Non-uniform memory access because it performs around 33% faster than SMP symmetric multiprocessing.

However maybe for encoding instances I may need to use SMP Symmetric multiprocessing to hit on both CPU(s).

    Thanks
