As a general rule, no. Gradually bring up the frequency, and run a torture test (Google Prime95). As soon as you fail a test, try bringing up the voltage slightly.

Be careful. I know someone who fried his CPU/MB increasing the voltage too much.

I don't know. You can try Googling for that info.

I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that your BIOS won't even let you fry your CPU with too much voltage. I can only increase mine slightly, not nearly enough to cause damage.

No problem. Just remember that there is a certain risk to overclocking. It uses more juice, generates more heat, wears out quicker, and sadly, it doesn't usually affect performance very much. Usually the hard drive is the weakest link.

Not to sound rude or dis-respectful, but if you are asking this here, you should stop now and do a lot more research before you continue to any adjustments at all.

    Some things you may want to look for/research;

Youll need to know the basics about your hardware:
CPUs Thermal limits, and MAX safe Vcore.
Where the Danger zone for voltage and temp. is.
    Chipset thermal/voltage limits
    RAM timings/voltage limits
Learn your bios. What the settings mean, the effect they have, and why to use them and when. Setting the wrong things incorrectly can easily end in disaster.

Youll also need a aftermarket cooling solution. OCing on stock cooling is asking for trouble.
Also, remeber, OC one thing at a time.
Just cranking up the CPU for the most part is bad, because when theres a instability, you will not know if its realted to a unstable CPU, RAM, or something else.

Dont let the board automatically adjust voltages either. Most tend to overvolt far too much.

He is asking because he is doing his research! He is doing the right thing. At least he did not say "I just fried my CPU because I OCed too hard. Is there any way to fix it?".

    Very true :)

And apologies if it sounded rude. I did not mean to be by my comments.
Only know the limits well before you start.

I really hate to see something bad happen because someone was simply unaware or Max safe limits :)

I dont take it as being rude you where just informing and yes i am resaerching this as i dont think i will need to oc if you look at the system specs a few poeple told me it will be hard to get it stable just trying to get some info and to learn. I am now seeing that i didnt know enough about computers and i just want to know more. I have some bugs to fix with my system it just dosent seem fast enough the last set up was faster with less and no oc (intel 5200 core 2 duo 2.53ghz with 4gigs of ram) the only reason i built this system was my old mobo would only take 4 gigs of ram. in your guys opinion is my set up good veiw the specs
