Processor @3.3GHz when idle => overheats

Hello, when my processor is idle it runs at 800MHz. Every now and then, the processor speed suddenly goes up to max speed (2.4GHz or 3.3GHz turbo) for no reason. It produces a lot of heat which makes the fans go wild. I haven't found any background processes that might use the processor without windows taskmanager noticing. I ran virusscans but haven't found anything. I can include the DxDiag or msInfo files if that would provide any help.

I'm new to this forum so I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post these kind of problems.(Excuse me for my crappy English)

    Thanks in advance,
    kakabol

Set the maximum processor state to 99% while not gaming then revert back to 100% if gaming. This turns off Turbo so your frequency only shoots up to 2.4 GHz.

Better yet, create a power plan with the 99% processor state and call it something and just switch to "high performance" when you're about to game.

Thanks for the reply, I did what you suggested and now it only goes up to 2.4 GHz.
