Persistently noisy fan
I've had this problem for about the past year and I just recently reinstalled the entire OS and it's not fixed the problem. I can only surmise therefore that the problem is due to some upgrade to some drivers or something that has turned them into bloatware, and something is causing my fan to run higher than it probably needs to. I heard NVidia's drivers are guilty of such these days.
It was never like this before and it's driving me mad! I had this problem with my macbook and that was worse, and now I have another noisy computer.
Is there something I can teak in the BIOS settings? Maybe I need to upgrade my BIOS or something. I uninstalled this VAIO Care software and maybe this would have updated my computer, and if I do that it will solve the problem.
I'm finding things are running slow as well again, especially opening photos in Windows Photo Viewer. I take a lot of HDR panoramic photography using a 24MP camera and so the files, once I stitch them together, can be quite large (up to 100MB). But even so it's a 8 core processor with 4GB of ram! It seems to start off ok but the more photos I look at the longer it takes to open them until it hangs and then I have to go into task manager to quit programs or just turn it off at the button.
This computer and OS used to be amazingly efficient and never caused me ANY problems, up until about 6-9 months ago. Then after so many updates after updates eventually it all just starts running slow and before you know it you have to buy a new computer and OS...
