    Task manager showing 20-30% cpu usage...


    Hi there, .. I dont know why my task manager is show that my cou usage is that high..
    Even tough I have nothing runnung, ..
    I check the processes and I don't see anything running there, . and the System Idle process is in 93% (for example) while the task manager is showing CPU usage: 30%...

    What is this?

    PS:Cpu usage in task manager goes even higher when absolutely nothing is running

    System Idle is free process space - in other words only 7% of process pace is used. It's an idle number, it is normally the highest number.

    You might have nothing running, but the system has lots of stuff. 20-30% isn't that bad, mine for example shoots up to 61%, juts because I launch Task Manager, then it settles down to a lower number.

    you might see some improvement by trimming down the number of services and startup items in System Configuration.

    Press the WinKey+R and type msconfig in the Run box
    Press the Services tab
    Hide all Microsoft services Make sure the box has a check mark in it.
    Press [Disable all]

    Press the Startup tab
    Press [Disable all]
    Enable your Antivirus (if present) and touchpad (if present) - a tick mark in the box means enabled.
    Press [OK]
    Restart your machine.

    See if the CPU usage is lower.
