    Downlaoding/Updating Games Causes Performance Loss

    Hi,

I made a new PC a while back and the one thing I do notice is when I DL a game or update it from an Launch Pad or similar Game launching program. My CPU usage is tops 15% maybe 25% but my desktop reaction is slowed I have to wait for folders or programs to open. It makes no sense to me why this happens. Updating a game or patching it should not cause this much slow down...should it?

It is your hard drive. I/O is what is causing your computer to run slow. A Hard Drive can only handle so much.

Thank you for an answer. In fact that is the lowest score on my Windows Experience is the Disk Data Rate Transfer (5.9). Appreciate your time and efforts to convey the message.
