    How to safely STOP TrustedInstaller from running 24x7


    ??
    windows 7 home prem x64, with nothing but carbonite & MSE running
    why is trusted installer necessary?

    there is no need for it except on demand for tasks.
    trustedinstaller is not running on any of my rigs except the one troubled one [at the moment]

    If it is running, it is likely running for a reason. Perhaps if you gave us more information. Like what trouble is the machine having?

When I click to Safely Remove Hardware (External HD) the LED light is still on and I can feel the HD still running even though the bubble comes up that says you can safely remove hardware. Is This normal as I don't want to have to keep shutting PC down to remove HD Thanks Shastus23
