    System Restore: When Does It Auto Create a Restore Point?


    In Windows 7, when does System Restore automatically create a Restore Point?

    Basically it makes one weekly, during critical system events and before the installation of programs.

    If you want a new one every day, have a look at this tutorial, it will do it daily when you fire up your machine.

    Making a restore point before installing programs was the point I was most interested in. I didn't know it would do this; but I heard something about it recently, and was wondering if it was true. I have often created a restore point manually before installing a program due to not knowing this.
