Win 7 Random Freezes. Help Appreciated.

    Hi,

New member here, seeking advice on why my Laptop has started to hang on a daily basis.

Below is a quick summary of what I have tried so far and a Hijack This Logfile should it help.

I also have a Win Event Viewer File having seen that mentioned in another thread. If you could advise me where to upload that for someone to take a look at.

What I have tried so far :

Full Disk Defrag - 100 per cent unfragmented.

Virus Scan - 24 items found quarantined and deleted (all in Chrome Folder - not Firefox and not in C:/Windows.)

SFC /Scannow - No faults found

CHKDSK - Again 3 part scan . No faults found.

Speccy - System Analysis Tool - Sys temps Max 38 C M/board Ram and Hard Disk.

Network Discovery and Printer Sharing Disabled

Used Shellxview to disable certain non Microsoft 3rd Party Extns

MDSCHED.EXE - Windows RAM / Mem Diagnostic - No problems found

No new software installed or uninstalled in at least 3 months except the latest version of Firefox and Flash Player direct from Mozilla and Adobe.

No hardware changes have ever been made whatsoever since the comp was purchased.

Likewise the comp has never been overclocked or used in any environment likely to cause hardware failure / slowdown ie heat cold or damp.

System will run for hours streaming live tv or Y/tube videos ... yet when surfing all of a sudden the mouse pointer will revert to the spinning globe. Frequency of these lock ups is every 1 or or 2 days.

Somtimes you can access the Start button and restart or use shutdown. Other times it will state 'Windows or Explorer has stopped responding' and you have to use the power button to force shutdown, to restart the pc.

I notice you have both AVG and Comodo Internet Security. Are they both running anti-virus real time protection? If so, pick either one but not both. While they can run nonoverlapping scheduled scans, they both cannot have AV real time shields running. I'm grasping at straws, could be wrong.

Many thanks for the reply. As you point out I have AVG and Comodo running - but I am only using Comodo Firewall, nothing else, and the AVG Firewall is definitely disabled so there should be no conflict there. I was using Avast Free with both Firewall and AV - then they cancelled the free version, hence the switch. Again thanks for the feedback, any is welcome.
