    Sleep mode

Just started with my lovely Inspiron laptop. However when typing my machine sometimes decides to go to sleep. It only seems to happen when typing and it is different keystrokes each time. This is getting very frustrating. It happens when using email and also in word documents. Writing this entry it switched 5 times.

    Hello Welcome!

Try this: Start->sleep, select Change when the computer sleeps

    Power Plan Settings - Change

    Sleep mode-when-laptop-sleeps.png

Choose Put the computer to sleep:, never

zx81 has given you very good advice. We do not know, however, if it will work. If it does not, use your installaiton disc to chose a repair. If your installation is corrupted, the repair will make necessary corrections.

Similar trouble..Please help! New system running Win7 x64 on asus maximusIII Formula. Will randomly come out of sleep mode with inoperative keyboard. reinstalling keyboard drivers by unplugging (USB) and plugging back in results in keyboard working again. Power options set to: HD off after 20min,sleep after 30 min, hybrid sleep off, Hibernate never, wake timers enable, USB selective suspend enabled power button action shut down (Should this be different if I push power button to awaken?) Suggestions? Thanks
