C: partition running out of space, need advice

At the time i got this computer, it was normal, but i never anticipated growth and other stuff. Since then i reinstalled fresh copy of windows a couple of times. Always leaving data on D and E. Last time was back in 2012. In the last years, since service pack 1 and all updates space on C is getting really low. I deleted hyberfil.sys and only cause of that i have this 2 gigs, sometimes it goes down to hundred of mbs.

I tried once to merge partitions C and D once, but i never did cause for some reason my partitions look like this:

I somehow made mistake first time and messed up order. So my question is how to fix this. How to make C: partition bigger. Just want to say that i would not be willing to copy stuff to other laptop and do complete formating, i just have too much stuff on this hard drive and the process would be hilariously long. Thanks in advance.

I've read it, but we have different problems. I have more than enough space on other partitions, but due to me not future proofing i now have problem. Windows cant "breathe" and i want to know if there is a way to fix it before i commit to total reformating.

You need more total space, buy a larger HD, I'd look for a 2 TB HD if you want everything on a single HD.
You can then then transfer everything to the new HD and increase partition sizes as you want to.
If you can install 2 HD's, that would be better...

You can use Partition Wizard Bootable CD to resize your current partitions.
MAKE SURE you have backups before doing anything, so you can recover if anything goes wrong !

How is that program working exactly, as you can see, problem here is that C: is far right, so it can't be extended, only shrinked.
And if i do backup, its better to just go ahead and do a complete format. But i won't do that, looks like i'm going to be waiting for windows 10...

You've got about 119 GB of free space on D and E.

As David says, you can add as much of that 119 GB as you like to C using Partition Wizard. You aren't likely to have much luck using Windows Disk Management.

You would first have to resize (shrink) [E] it so there is free space after [E].
Then you would have free space before [C] that could be added to [C] to increase it's size.

Ok, i've never done this so i didnt know. But what files should i backup just in case? The ones from the partition i shrink? For example i want to transfer 50 gb from D to C. Backup whole D?

edit: ok, so backup E, shrink it by 50gb, then add to C. all that using MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable 9. Can i create bootable usb? I dont think i have blank cds at hand..

Before messing around with resizing partitions, make sure you backup everything. Macrium Reflect Free (here is a good tutorial on how to use Macrium Reflect) is an excellent imaging program for backing up your C: partition or you can image the entire drive if you don't have a lot of data on it.

I like using MiniTool Partition Wizard for editing partitions.

Now you're saying you want 50 GB from [D], so that's more complicated...
You have to resize [D] so there is free space on the right side.
Move [E] to the left, so now the free space is before [C].
Then resize [C] to use the new free space.

BACKUP EVERYTHING before doing anything !

I never make changes like this without a complete backup ...
