Some times their is more than one problem. You can't fix problem (XXX) until you fix problem (AAA).
One has to start with a proper installed Windows 7 and activate it properly.

Then if their is more problems we continue to investigate and find out what those problems are.

Let me say it this way.
We will not investigate and farther until you have a proper installed Windows 7 and a proper Activation.
We do not help until the counterfeit problem is resolved.

I would think your problem comes from some software that you installed, and has nothing to do with windows.

A clean install will fix it.

And be more careful what you add to windows :)

It is actually very easy to do.
Read this tutorial, make copies. Then when you see each screen, you will know what to expect and to do.

Mine is OEM, it says there will be a few extra things that may be different in the OEM; will it be something complicated or pretty self explanatory / easy to handle. Also, thanks for the link I am confident on how to do the install, but how do I wipe the corrupt cracked version of windows already on my hard drive?

    Here is a option.
A tutorial by Brink to Clean All and then do the Clean Install as richc46 post #47 recommended.

You should not need to do a clean all but if you so desire this is the tutorial.
