"Windows has stopped working" at random times

I get the "Windows has stopped working..." and then "Windows is restarting..." from time to time - it has been going on for a while. It usually just restarts and all is well but recently when it restarts it kills my ASUS Suite II and NVIDIA Control Panel, both of which I use frequently. It's not a terrible issue as I just restart the applications but I would love to see if I can fix this issue instead of just "dealing with it"

I have tried a SFC Scan Now and a ChkDsk both reported no issues and clean drives. I have the ContextMenuHandlers trick, no dice. Can't seem to figure out the issue.

    Any help would be great.

Try installing all updates, especially the critical ones. They fix issues.

Have you installed any programs that are from an unknown publisher? These programs are usually malware. Run a full scan, because it checks your computer more accurately than a fast scan.
It can make your computer not responding lots of times and it may delay everything your computer is trying to do.

If that doesn't fix your issue, try restoring your computer to a state which it was fine. Go to System Restore.

If that didn't fix the issue again, the only thing I can tell is reinstall Windows in Custom mode.
