W7, near full system pause on boot up
Hey everyone,
A situation started to occur with my computer which I still haven't pinpointed the source of. I certainly have been installing and uninstalling some stuff recently, so chances are that may in some way be related to the cause.
Whenever I boot up my machine and go past the welcome/password screen, there's a brief (20~30 seconds) pause in the loading of services and other start-up programs (I notice I have GPU-Z on start up for example and it freezes on the splashscreen during that period of time, or that icons shown in Windows Explorer aren't loaded). The one thing I did try was to, via msconfig, disable all services and GPU-Z certainly had no issues going through the splash screen as fast as it used to.
So my guess it may well be a service but no particular idea which. Haven't really combed through all of the services list to see if there is something unwanted there yet, but was wondering if there was some tool that could help me tell which service/program/whatever is being loaded at that precise time that I see the programs/services not loading for that pause moment.
Thanks in advance for any help.
