On second thought Atapi can be your CD/DVD drive. Remove it for a while and see if errors stop.

The first being an Acer, then switched to an ASUS, neither one valid on your retail ASUS board.

Then the activation entries in your hosts file.

You need to get that stuff cleaned up before wasting anybody else's time.

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I've been away for a while. As for the issues in my hosts file and PID - I was made recently aware that the installed version was an OEM version and I have been hunting for a copy for some time, hence the change to an Asus (but then I also realised this was OEM and not Retail). I am pleased to say that after receiving my new Retail Windows 7 Disc, I clean-installed the OS onto my hard-drive and almost all of the problems have been fixed. I was just hoping there was a was to fix the problems and reactivate that version of windows but the problems kept on building up so I thought the best course of action was to start-afresh.

I would like to thank you all for your help with this!

Thanks,

MistUnleashed.
