unable to run chkdsk, corrupt

    Thank you NoelDP and GoKay
    have used the cmd prompt from the windows install disc to run NoelDP's code, seemed to do this ok, have run sfc /scannow again, here's the cbs log

    That seems to have worked - the SFC is now clear.

    The reason there's no option to run 'Repair my computer' is because there's no System Reserved partition - it's that which makes it possible.
    There isn't really any way to post-install it, short of a clean install as far as I know.

    all seems better thx, just turned on and it booted straight to chkdsk, thank you so much for your assistance it is much appreciated.
