    Win7 explorer.exe process at 95%, solution?

    Hi
I don't know what is this strange problem that i am facing.

When i boot my laptop, after a few minutes, the system process goes up to 95% usage and everything goes dam slow to be use able. When few minutes passed, like for example 5minutes, the process starts coming down to 50% and then system gets fine. At this point so far, i am using nothing at all just watching things in task manager.
Just to mention, the windows is fully updated, flash java silverlight shockwave etc. are all fully updated. Browsers are fully updated. C drive left space is around 13gb. There is only ONE explorer.exe file running in task manager.

What is this problem and how do i solve it?

Hello awaix mate the space on the drive is getting reasonably low and I would try cleaning it up a bit first of all. Don't do what I did a few months ago and let the drive get full because to reclaim it is HELL!!

First of all I would recommend you running these

    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html
https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2

if no go then these - in case -
    http://www.superantispyware.com/
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If one is running Kaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable Kaspersky while the ADW is being used)

You can use CCleaner to clean the rubbish off the machine CCleaner - Download and see this tutorial CCleaner - Delete Junk Files
just be aware that when you run the Analyse go to Options > cookies and save to the right hand list the cookies that are used for sites you have passwords for or else you will be forever having to login again.
Another way to clean rubbish is to go to Computer > C: drive > Properties > disk clean > that will then run and give you an option of further cleaning up > run that and it will go to ? delete all (see pic)
Finally to give that little bit more to the machine go through this Optimize Windows 7 < point 9 is invaluable and I untick everything as a matter of course

I would also take a look at msconfig/Startup and Non Microsoft Services.

Many programs will have auto check for updates at boot.
Some programs will also be set to do scans at boot.
These types of things will cause your cpu usage to go high a boot and as they completed the usage will go down.
