    My copies of Windows 7 x32 & x64 ARE TOTALLY LEGIT, and were downloaded from Digital River website, which (was) the official Microsoft website, before Microsoft discontinued site. Only deleted ei.cfg file to unlock all versions (all in one). I use them quite regularly to repair install or more often, to obtain files for replacement. If you do install or repair install the options for basic, home premium, & ultimate are now available (you can only install or repair install with the same version as the one currently on computer. Microsoft now makes you jump through multiple hoops to obtain a copy from them. It's 2:20 pm here in Michigan, I should be home around 5:00 pm or so, will provide you with link. You can download is you so choose!!!

    CheckSUR found and fixed one error :)

    I'll see what I can do with the errors from the SFC scan and post a fix later.

    I've uploaded a file - skcaa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel'sOneDrive

    Please download and save it.
    Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...

    Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract

    Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)

    Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'

    Pick that

    You'll have to log in with your username and password.

    Pick the option to use a Command Prompt

    At the prompt type

    DIR C:\skcaa

    hit the enter key- if you get a 'Not Found' error try

    DIR D:\skcaa

    or

    DIR E:\skcaa

    The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

    XCOPY <drive>:\hznaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

    (e.g. XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

    run the command (it should take almost no time) and when the prompt returns, type

    EXIT

    and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

    Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt

    then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

    Hmmm, I tryed what you said, but it couldn't find the folder "skcaa" . I tryed it 4 times.
    1st - downloaded it, extracted it in "C:\" , restarted the comp, went in the Repair Environment, Command Prompt and searched for it in all 6 dir that i have (C, D, E, F, G and H) , but it couldn't find it.
    2nd - I renamed the file "skcaa" to "fix" and did the same thing like the 1st time, but no results.
    3rd - I went back to the One Drive link u gave me, downloaded it again, and did the same think like the 1st time, still no results.
    4th - I renamed it again ("skcaa" to "fix), searched every dir, but still nothing.
    Soo I decided to skip this step and go directly on the "SFC /Scannow" in cmd, but there appeard a new problem... the scan stopped on 61% saying "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
    I'm starting to think that this OS has a lot of critical errors...can't preform "sfc scan" , had antivirus install problems(I resolved that issue) , can't update to SP1(I have all updates) neither from Windows Update, nor manualy from the file I've downloaded from Microsoft, tried to update to Windows 10, it couldn't do that either, getting bsod(rarely now) , all that and i have a legal serial code inserted...

    In normal WIndows, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command...

    DIR C:\skcaa

    Does that produce the expected folder listing?


    Here are some instructions to make lifeeasier :)

    1) To open anElevated Command Prompt Window (the ECP window), click on Start, All Programs,Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run asAdministrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

    2) To run thecommands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on thehighlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at topleft – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the lastcommand, so hit the Enter Key once.

    3) To copy theresults... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit...'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to pasteit into your response.

    So - the files are definitely in the right place.

    How many drives are there on this machine? (and how many partitions?)
    Please post a screen cap of the Disk Management showing all the HD details.
