SFC /SCANNOW problem
I have the Administrator Command Prompt open - when I enter 'SFC /SCANNOW' (l.c.) 'Resource Protection could not start the repair process'. How to fix?

Tathra mate try starting this in safe mode if you haven't already, and make sure there is a space between sfc and /scannow ie sfc /scannow. It doesn't matter if you use lower case letters either.
Once you done that maybe this might be worth a try.
https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html< if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2
and I would run these too just as a matter of curiosity

ADW download frombleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If one is runningKaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable Kasperskywhile the ADW is being used)
In addition to John's suggestions can you please check the following.
- Click on Start
- Type in Services.msc and Run as Administrator
- Scroll down to Windows Modules Installer and check to see if the Startup Type is set to Manual
4. If not, double click on Windows Modules Installer
5. In the resulting Properties window select Manual from the Startup type dropdown menu 6. Try to run sfc /scannow again
Thanks for your replies:) My basic problem is the dll.btbaloon message about it being missing (I have no idea what program it can't open). I tried the steps you both suggested but haven't got far (I'm no techie). I also tried to reinstall WIDDCOM bluetooth software but got this message 'Error opening installation log file. Verify specifie log file etc..." dunno what that means either.
I'm bushed!
Ok mate I didn't ask before because I thought this might be simple and as we have no system specs please do this
System Info - See Your System Specs
OK - done that (I hope!). What next - and many thanks.
David
Nope, System Specs is still empty, it is in the lower left of each post.
Is this enough? - I had to enter manually
