Dell Inspiron N4110 — AC Adapter Not Recognized, System Running Slow

My Dell INS-N4110 laptop has been around for roughly 5 years. It's no powerhouse but I wouldn't call it much of a slouch either. Just recently, it's started randomly getting slow; games would lag and even Chrome would run like it was being processed on a Win98. Pulling the power and taking out the battery for a few minutes fixed the problem a few times, but now it's not even succumbing to that.

After doing a reboot with all of the original services/startup programs (did this by accident, mind you) — Dell Quickset was re-enabled and a message popped up telling me that my AC power adapter could no longer be recognized and that I needed to plug in an official 65W charger. This IS the original charger the laptop came with. Okay, so I need a new charger; that should be a 2 week wait. HOWEVER, Dell's shadiness showed itself when I found out that until a new charger is plugged in, the system throttles down the CPU which is the exact reason why my games/programs are underperforming.

Is there any way that I can bypass this and get the laptop back to its original speed until I can get my hands on a charger?

Control Panel - Power Options - High Performance - customize it and set min processor state to 100% for on battery.
And enjoy max performance for 2 hours until battery drains without recharging

Found this programed called ThrottleStop and unchecked one box; my CPU is back to normal.
