I put that number in a google search and it comes up as server memory :/
Not sure if it's the best choice for a computer or not ?

Given the way Samsung printed the part number - there is not much way for you to know that the main part number ends in BH0 (BH zero) - instead of ending in the letter "o". Samsung Computing DRAM Product Catalogue | Samsung Semiconductors Global Site

It is often referred to as server memory because it is ECC. (Crucial.com - What is ECC server memory?) Most general purpose computers do not use ECC memory. Scary, isn't it?

As far as I know, all high-end Dell T series workstations use ECC RAM.

    You can run Crucial's scanner...
    Crucial.com - Crucial System Scanner
...and see if it correctly sees all of the occupied slots.

I think we know why this computer was for sale :-(
There is something very weird about it.

If you get desperate enough, ground yourself and carefully reseat each stick of RAM.

By looking at your motherboard online I do believe it is a dual processor motherboard.

It could be you need both processors installed to use all your ram.

Yes the motherboard is supposed be a dual processor board. The motherboard specs list the memory as "16 DIMM slots (8 per processor)" so I took that to mean the 8 RAM slots that are currently used are dedicated to only serve processor "A" and if a processor "B" was added then it would only use RAM in the other 8 slots.

I don't know where you would find one but you do need a motherboard manual. I think the manual would answer many questions.

Perhaps memtest those? Would take a week for 8 passes with so much mem though

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Perhaps remove all but 2 and work your way up from there if all is good.
