Unable to run SFC after failed system restore

Hey folks, long time no see.

Kind of in a bind here. Had a power outage during a system restore on a unit here. It won't boot, the registry appears intact and start up repair is telling me a corrupt file is the reason for the inability to boot. (safe mode is also a no go)

I've been trying to get SFC to run but depending on what switches I use I get one of two messages.
One tells me I can't run sfc due to the system already being in a repair process, or if using offline switch, I get a similar message telling me file check can't run, the verify only switch also results in in the first message.

I kind of need to get this system to boot without a new install, it has a ridiculous amount of customized music and production software on it that would mean a major loss for us if it had to be completely rebuilt. from a fresh install. Microsoft's forums weren't much help on this so I was wondering if anyone here has any ideas how to work around this sfc lock out.

A repair install is what I'm hoping to do in the long run, but in order to do that I have to be able to boot. I may not even need sfc to run fully, I just need a method to id the corrupt file so I can replace it/update it properly.

I really need a way to get this thing to boot even if it's imperfect so we can properly backup 30 or so production programs worth of settings and tweaks before attempting anything else. A base data backup has already been done using mini xp as a copy medium.

If any additional info will help let me know, disabling restart on error results in a blue screen that oddly has no useable information on it, and no dump file appears to be created. I would be able to troubleshoot myself from there if it were the case.

I was unable to save it, fortunately some creative digging in %appdata% did allow me to save some of the software settings and related stuff. I'll mark this as solved but it really seems like there is no way out of this, fortunately it is probably something that won't happen to many people.
