    Computer loading very slow after windows update


    My sister's laptop is currently having an issue loading after a recent windows update. She restored it before the update, but the issue still persists, even in safe mode. It's like a snail's pace to load everything in. Her laptop sat a black screen (mouse still visible) with the Windows build on center top and the word safe mode in the corners for a while. But eventually it did load in the rest of the icons/taskbar/etc. Is there a way to figure out why it's performance is still awful after doing a system restore?

    Perform a clean startup until someone comes up with another idea. Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

    Can you see anything suspicious in a Resource Monitor (check all tabs and do sort by relevant columns)?

Anyone's computer slow since update?

Ever since i downloaded the 16 windows updates (something like that) a day or 2 ago my computer has been alot slower and having random problems. Sometimes the internet wont play sound but things like skype will, my computer will randomly not read certain songs on cds when i click them in windows...

During a recent windows update my pc froze, (mid-update) and I restarted my machine. Now windows gets stuck at the black" Loading operating system..."screen. After a long wait it will eventually display .........boot from cd/. When I boot from my windows dvd my os is not shown in system recovery....
